Student Spotlight

Robert T. - 8th Grade

What is your favorite subject?

That’s a tough one! I love every subject for different reasons, and each has a unique twist. If I have to choose, though, I would say math because I get to use all my reasoning skills to come up with a solution, and drama because it gives me a chance to express myself creatively.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love tennis. I am part of The Greene School’s tennis academy and I play in a local club. I am going to start entering tournaments in 2023.

What’s your favorite book?

The Bicycle Spy by Yona Zeldis McDonough. It has a lot of action and mystery, and it involves a lot of historical detail about World War II.

What is the best part of being at The Greene School?

The teachers are all so genuinely nice and helpful–even the ones I’ve never had. Everyone gets to know each other on a personal level.

Have you done any volunteer service?

I care for rescue dogs at Big and Small Dog Ranch Rescue in Loxahatchee. It’s a great organization that takes in abused and homeless dogs from all over the world.

What do you consider to be your most notable achievements?

I placed second in Congressional Debate in the Palm Beach County tournament. I had a featured role in last year’s production of Aladdin, which was my first time performing in a play. My tennis is starting to improve at a higher level. I scored in the 97th percentile when I took the MAP test. And I discovered I could dance when I took Mr. Albright’s class last year.

What are your future plans?

I will definitely continue to play tennis. Eventually, I want to go to college and then attend medical or veterinary school because I want to work in a field that helps people.
